Transport around the Airport
Orlando International Airport is very well catered for, with transportation services offered by bus, taxi and shuttle as well as both car and minivan hire.
Bus Services
There are buses every 30 minutes to downtown Orlando provided by Lynx, the numbers to look out for being 11, 41, 42, and 51. Services also run to International Drive between 5.30 in the morning and 11.30 at night, with fewer services provided on Sundays and national holidays. Other services are provided to the different residential and retail areas of Orlando, but it is worth checking the up to date timetable for details of these.
Taxi Services
Found just outside the main terminal, at both sides A and B, taxi services are a quick and popular option for travellers wanting to get to their destination with the minimum of fuss.
Taxi companies offering services here include Ace Metro, Diamond Cab Company, Star Taxi, Town & Country Transportation and also Yellow Cabs.
Shuttle Buses
Shuttle buses, like the taxi cabs, can be found outside the main terminal, with sides A and B both catered for. For travellers from the UK a shuttle bus is basically a private hire mini-bus, a vehicle that is particularly popular in Orlando thanks to the large number of homes and villas and also the prevalence of families, where a mini-bus may be the best option for a family of two adults and three children, plus their luggage.
Car and Minivan Rental
Another popular option for visitors to Orlando is vehicle hire, ideal for those staying in a villa or rented house for a while where transport is high on the list of requirements, and also very useful for visiting the many different attractions that are within the surrounding areas but not in Orlando itself.
